Perhaps Tuzzi adopted this attitude only in somewhat the same way that the banks regarded the Collateral Campaign, from which they had hitherto held aloof as far as was possible, without, however, depriving themselves of a chance to have at least one little finger in the pie; and it might be, then, that Tuzzi, thus preoccupied, did not notice Diotima’s second springtide of love, although it was, frankly, becoming pretty obvious.
